Ben Hanley will join WinStar Farm as the newest member of its stallion season sales team, officials at the farm announced Thursday.

Having earned a degree in equine science from the University of Kentucky and a degree from the Irish National Stud course, Hanley joins WinStar after stints with Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in Saratoga and after working in yearling prep for WinStar, Coolmore and Taylor Made. Hanley has also worked in customer-facing roles with Taylor Made at Keeneland and Fasig-Tipton Sales.

After his graduation from the INS program, Hanley worked as assistant yearling manager for Airdrie Stud and was a stallion groom at Ashford, where he traveled with the stallions to Australia for a breeding season and gained experience working with mares and foals. Once back in the U.S., he split his responsibilities at Ashford between yearling prep and working with stallions.

“I am excited to join the bloodstock team at WinStar and continue building my career working with an elite stallion roster,” Hanley said.

Liam O'Rourke, WinStar's director of bloodstock services, added, “Ben has built a great foundation of practical experience at several world-class operations. We are excited to bring Ben into the WinStar team, and I'm confident he'll provide a great blend of horsemanship and customer service to breeders.”
